History: I am Apple’s puppy and was born in rescue!
Apple is a beautiful girl who arrived to rescue expecting a litter of apples… we mean puppies and has been a great momma dog to them. They are all officially ready to find their forever home of their own and hope to find them soon!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!

History: We welcomed an adorable litter of deserving puppies from an overcrowded rural shelter in Texas. The puppies have been doing well in rescue and are officially ready to start their journeys in finding forever homes!
Momma Hazel and her puppies arrived to rescue but unfortunately broke with distemper shortly after arriving. They spent several weeks in isolation and are no longer contagious! They are officially ready and medically cleared to start their journeys in finding forever homes of their own soon!
A Note from the Foster: Meet Amelia!
Amelia, our beautiful 12-week-old Anatolian Shepherd mix, is the sweetest little shadow you'll ever meet. While her breed suggests she'll grow into a stately companion, she has the heart of a lap dog and loves nothing more than curling up at your feet while you work.
This little girl is a social butterfly! She adores playing with her feline friends and other dogs, making her a perfect fit for a multi-pet household. She's also a smart cookie who's eager to please and is making great progress with her potty training every single day.
When the sun goes down, Amelia is a dream sleeper. She happily snuggles into her kennel at night and rests peacefully, ready for a day of fun and snuggles with you.
Amelia is searching for a loving family that wants a gentle and devoted companion. She’s ready to fill your home with sweetness and bring joy to every day.

A Note from the Foster: Meet Foxtrot (or Fox, Foxy, and even Fortnite thanks to my son and hubby 😋)! The sweetie came to Coco’s from one of our rescue partners in Texas in search of her forever home and is learning what the good life is all about! She has transitioned easily into our busy home with two kids. Foxtrot is doing well learning some basic commands, potty training is going great, she sleeps in her crate quietly through the night, and she loves everyone she meets. She adores attention, snuggles, playing chase in the backyard with our resident Shepard mix, and “swimming” in the grass where she sprawls out and drags her tummy along the ground.
Foxtrot does great with our kids overall(4 and 11) and is learning to be gentle with little hands and working on not jumping to greet them. Though not necessary, she would love to find a forever home with another dog to help her continue building her confidence, learn from, and play with.
Overall, she would make for a pretty easy addition to any family!

History: We recently were asked to help a local group of mom, her older daughter, and 3 young puppies from a drug bust situation. They arrived to rescue covered in fleas and in desperate need of help. They have settled into foster homes and doing well! Flea-Free :)
A Note from the Foster: Hal (or as we call her, Hallie) is a 3 month old lab mix puppy who joined our house in late August. When she arrived she was very timid and it was clear she hadn’t experienced a lot of love and care. But boy, did she start sucking up affection quickly. Hal can be slower to warm up to strangers but takes to kids quickly. She is super affectionate and loves nothing more than a good snuggle. Now that she realizes that people are good for treats and cuddles, she always wants to be around us.
As she settles into our home, we are starting to see her personality. In addition to lots of cuddle time, she likes to explore the house and chase balls or toys. She is curious and affectionate. She doesn’t like her crate but is quickly getting used to going potty outside. As long as we keep to a loose schedule of going outside after waking and watching for her cues, she does a great job with potty training.
Hal shares a house with a 70 pound dog and while she was initially scared of her, she has warmed up and will even try to play. She shows interest in making friends with dogs her size and loves to meet kids. While a little scared of men, Hal will warm up with enough patience. It has been a joy to watch her come into her own as she learns all about the “good life”.

History: Luna is a super sweet itty bitty girl who was surrendered to rescue when a local samaritan saw she was being sold for a low amount and was worried she would go into the wrong hands. Luna arrived to rescue with some pep to her step and a lot of love to give despite her little body she holds her confidence in!
A Note from the Foster: This tiny little girl is just the sweetest! She loves digging at the blankets to make a comfy little nest, but usually ends up sleeping on your chest regardless (complete with sleepy puppy sighs). She’s smart as a whip and is already playing fetch with her favorite toys. She’s a puppy so she does like to chew, but she’ll happily take a chew toy in lieu of your fingers! House training is going great and she has had no accidents so far! We are working on extending her time in the kennel. She’s already comfortable in there for a few hours, so long as she had some playtime and a potty break beforehand. She’ll protest for a few minutes when you first kennel her, but she settles down quickly (and loves her white noise). She’s done well with everyone she has met, including kids (around 10 years old) and our own cattle dog. Overall she’s a very happy, curious, sweet little pup who wants to wiggle her way into your life!

History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue efforts continue all winter long as we have recently welcomed another deserving group from our rural area partners in North Dakota.
A Note from the Foster: Introducing Miss Megan, or Meg as her foster mom calls her.
She is a petite little lady (currently 26 lbs), with a sweet personality - just the right combination of sugar and spice! Megan was very timid when coming into rescue but has made great strides in a very short time. She is doing very well with potty training and is successful with regular trips outside. She sleeps all night in her crate without any issues – between 8-9 hours! She will also go into her crate when we are going to be away for a bit and is quiet and clean.
Megan has been with several dogs, large and small, during her time in foster and has been around a number of children from very young to older and done well. She is learning to walk on a regular leash but prefers the retractable leash to keep up the pace with our resident dog, Chase. They play very well together and she is learning to take cues when Chase wants a break . She enjoys being in the backyard where she explores or sits and watches the neighborhood kids play. Meg is quiet and doesn’t bark unless our resident dog is barking and then she’s happy to join in.
Meg would love to go to a forever home with an active family and perhaps another dog to help her continue to learn. However, with a family who will continue her training and give her the love she craves, she will be successful.
Megan is a great cuddler, lays at your feet when you’re working and loves to be with her people. Could Megan be your new fur baby?

History: Peggy Sue is a super beautiful girl who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart with her smile and happy personality. She has her paws crossed to find her forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Peggy Sue is a sweet bundle of fluff! She loves cuddling, eating, and playing. Not necessarily in that order. I'm not sure which one she likes to do the most. 😅 She was very timid and shy when she first arrived, but now she's just a bundle of pure love. She's excited about life! She loves everyone she meets; people, dogs, toys, frogs, butterflies, bugs, etc. She's a "hippy" dog. She loves everything! 🤣🤣 She has this cute floppy jump she does when she's really excited that's the cutest thing ever. Her little floppy ears go flying and she looks like she's smiling at you.
Peggy Sue isn't completely potty trained yet, but she's getting it. She just hasn't quite figured out that you only go outside. She tries to go on the pottybpads in the house, but misses sometimes. She never poops in her kennel.
She's not fond of her kennel, but she does sleep in it at night. She does complain at first, quit loudly, but usually settles down. She does wake up during the night if she hears any noises, which is why we have her kennel in a separate room. They normally have their kennel in our room.
She loves playing in her fenced in yard. She loves doing her style of zoomies. Very adorable! Everything she does is adorable 😍.
Whoever applies for this cutie pie will be a very lucky person.

Penny overcame distemper and is ready to share love with a forever family. While distemper can be serious, many dogs who recover go on to live long, healthy lives.
She also has some blindness and deafness.
A Note from the Foster: Penny is a love of a little girl - lots of energy, joy, and curiosity. She also goes by Powerful Penny and Pen Pen. She works hard, is so sweet, and loves to play with familiar friends - pups of all ages, children and large humans. She is a double merle and was born deaf and visually impaired. This does not stop her from having mastered stairs, nearly fully potty trained, and tap signals for come, sit, and go outside. She is a tough little fighter - and while she takes time to warm and is a little anxious at first, she quickly attaches and loves to play, and play hard with other pups of all sizes. She would do wonderfully with another patient pup of any size or demeanor - and an equally present and patient forever family. Crate training is going slow as she has some separation anxiety with having overcome illness and being deaf and mostly blind. She currently lives with three other big dogs and plays right along with them! My foster family says that they know my forever family is out there and will marvel at what a remarkable pup I am - I can't wait to meet you! My foster family also says they look forward to being an ongoing resource of support and care to my forever family as they transition to forever loving me, Powerful Penny, with unique needs.

A Note from the Foster: Smart and sassy Phoebe is going to make a wonderful addition to an active family. Phoebe has a ton of fun energy. She loves to play inside and out. She loves squeaky toys and things that she can chew on. Peanut butter Kongs are a favorite. She loves to walk and explore the outdoors. She’s so curious and will pick up sticks on her walk. Phoebe loves hikes and has gone at least 3 miles on an outing and could do more.
Phoebe is adventurous and excited by her surroundings . She will need puppy classes and a devoted owner to help her learn how to walk on a leash and be calm as she socializes with the outside world.
Phoebe really wants to please her human and she’s incredibly responsive to teaching with consistency. We’ve been working on the command “eyes on me“ when she barks at people or dogs while we’re on walks . She’s doing well with it but it’s been a bit difficult for me to train her because I also have her sibling. Once she’s the sole focus of a family I think she’ll learn very quickly.
Other pets: Phoebe loves to roughhouse with her brother. She doesn’t understand that cats and smaller dogs don’t want to play the same way she does. It would be great for her to have another dog to carouse around with. If you have cats or smaller dogs you’ll need to be invested in good consistent training to help her learn to be gentle with them.
Phoebe is going to be a wonderful, lovable addition to an active family.

A Note from the Foster: Meet Rue!
Rue is an adorable little low rider with the classic spunky, sassy Corgi personality! She loves being the center of attention and will happily follow you around like your little shadow, making sure she’s always part of the action.
She’s currently working hard on crate training, potty training, and leash walking — all part of her puppy journey — and making great progress. Rue also has a soft spot for good food (typical Corgi!) and will quickly win you over with her adorable antics.
Playful, clever, and full of sass, Rue is guaranteed to keep you laughing and smiling every day. If you’re looking for a pint-sized pup with a big personality, a big appetite, and an even bigger heart, Rue just might be your perfect match! 🐾

History: I am Miss Cinnamon’s puppy and was born in rescue!
Miss Cinnamon is a beautiful pittie girl who needed help from an overcrowded rural shelter in Texas. She was a favorite right from the get-go when meeting her as she would melt into your lap and her eyes are so soulful.
She arrived to rescue and surprise! She was expecting a litter of puppies and needed an emergency c-section. With the help of our wonderful veterinarian and vet techs along with foster mom’s help, puppies did good and momma too!
This adorable land seal family is officially ready to each start their journey in finding forever homes of their very own soon.
A Note from the Foster: Meet Russell!!
Russell is a sweet pittie girl ready to meet her forever family! She's the perfect mix of brave and independent, with a side of goofy and silly.
Russell has been loving hanging out with the "big dogs" in her foster home. They've been teaching her all the things like where to potty outside, how to run and play chase, and also when to know playtime is over and it's time to rest:)
Russell is starting to have the cutest pittie wiggle! She gets so excited to see her people that her whole body wiggles in true pittie fashion.
She hopes to wiggle her way to your heart soon!

History: Shirley is a super sweet little lady who arrived to rescue with her littermates who each looked a bit different from each other- some with curlier hair and others like Shirley who look more golden-like. They are each settling into rescue and doing well!
A Note from the Foster: Hi friends, my name is Shirley. I am a lot more golden than I am doodle! My foster parents tell me I look like a baby deer, since I am tall and lanky and still growing into my legs. I am working super hard on potty training, and doing oh so good! I am generally a very calm pup, and am happy playing with a toy that squeaks. I am very easy to have around and love to cuddle and get belly scratches. I do have a foster brother who is a BIG boy, but I handle my own and like to learn from him. I am sometimes shy with new people, loud sounds, and new things, but I open up very fast with some encouragement and high pitched baby talk. Everyone tells me I am the sweetest girl, I like to think so too! I am itchy, but my foster parents are helping me find out why and fix it. I can promise you that you will fall in love with me immediately, just like my foster parents did!
PS- There is a cat at my foster home, but I usually leave him alone or carefully tiptoe up to him for sniffs. I like to keep to myself and he does the same! I also met a baby and was oh so gentle!

History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue efforts continue all winter long as we have recently welcomed another deserving group from our rural area partners in North Dakota.
A Note from the Foster: Tilly is my name and tail waggin' is my game! I am one happy little pup, and I just love to wag my little tail to let you know it! I am a confident young gal from rural North Dakota and I am learning to LOVE the good life with humans!
They say best guess I am approximately 3 months old, I came from Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue with my sister Belle and brother Patrick. I am fostered together with my sister, but learning very quickly to be independent. I sleep all by myself in my own crate, and don't complain one bit.
When it's meal time, as soon as my foster momma opens my crate door and says “time to eat” I know I need to go in and wait patiently so she can prepare my meal! One of the best parts of the day is meal time! I'm also learning I really love to run around with the other resident dogs, even though they are SO much bigger than I am, it is really fun! I enjoy squeakers, balls and bones to chew on!
I really hope I get to meet you sometime soon! I am going to try to make it to lots of Coco's Heart Events!
