History: We recently welcomed a group of animals who needed help from various unfortunate situations in rural areas down south. Whether overcrowded shelters or unclaimed impounds, they have a second chance at finding their forever homes and hope to meet you soon!
A note from the foster: These sweet kittens are the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. They love to chase toys, explore, and entertain you with their silly personalities, but when they’re done playing, they’re just as happy to curl up in your lap for snuggles. They’re doing great with their litter box and are already showing what loving, well-rounded companions they’ll be. If you’re looking for kittens that will keep you smiling and feeling loved, these little ones are it.

History: Pawllyanna is a beautiful girl who needed help from a rural area in South Dakota and arrived to rescue with the help of our partners from Lightshine Rescue. She is hoping to find her forever home soon!
A note from the foster: Little Miss Pawllyanna here is finally ready to find her fur-ever home! Look at this cute lady! Pawlly came to us a few months ago after she was found outside in the winter elements. Pawlly is an hoot, she makes me laugh every day. The way she’ll stare at you is just so funny. Ive been calling her a reverse sour patch kid, first she’s sweet then she can be sour. She will tell you when she has had enough pets or attention! After she arrived we found out she had ringworm. It is not a worm as the name suggests, but a fungus that causes hair loss and flaky patches in cats. Ringworm is zoonotic, which means other animals and humans can catch it (athletes foot in humans for example). Because of this she needed to stay in rescue for a bit as she went through weeks of treatment to clear everything up prior to adoption! Now she’s super excited to be all clear and ready to go home!
Because of the ringworm she had to be a bit more isolated than other foster kittens would be, so her first few days in a home could be pretty energetic as she’ll have access to much more of the home. She is a spunky girl with hints of sass, though some of that spunk comes from her having to go through treatments. She’s ’over it’ to say the least and is eagerly hoping there is someone interested in scooping her up and giving her a hapawily ever after!
She’s a great eater, great with her box, has loved every single toy she’s been given. She’s gotten really good at puzzle feeders. She is also very good at entertaining herself. She takes oral meds like a champ, never fought me on it. She should do well with other animals in the home with slow and patient introductions. If you’re looking for cute, funny little spitfire, Pawlly may just be your girl!

HistoryandA note from the foster: Simone came to rescue in January as a pregnant black polydactyly house panther with a suspected due date of the end of February. From the minute I got her, she was the friendliest cat I have ever had. Most cats would be cautious of strangers after what she had just been through, but she was great from the moment we met. Since we had some time before the babies would arrive, we spent a lot of time in her space cuddling, playing, and just getting to know each other. Eventually she got to spend time roaming the house and meeting my resident cats. But then on super bowl Sunday - the day before her ultrasound appointment - Simone started acting extra affectionate and we soon discovered she was close to giving birth. Her original ultrasound must have been off and on Monday February 9th, as soon as I got home to check on her, she gave birth to three tiny black kittens (Mocha, Matcha, and Brew)- about 3 weeks earlier than we had originally thought. Unfortunately, no extra toes on any of the babies but they were all healthy and perfect. She has now done her job as a mom and her babies are off to their new homes so now it is time to find the perfect home for Miss Simone.
Simone is a very friendly, sweet, beautiful, and affectionate cat. She is pretty young herself at maybe a little over a year so she is also very playful. Pom Poms are her favorite toys as well as wand toys and lazer pointers. She enjoys time in our catio and window perches watching the birds. She loves her different cat trees and uses her scratching posts for all of those extra toes. She is a great coworker if you work for home and will hang out on your desk while you work. She has been really good using her litter box with absolutely no issues. She loves to get all the pets and purrs a lot. She is just the sweetest girl.
She is currently in our home with 3 resident cats and 4 resident dogs. She gets along with the cats pretty well. When she had kittens here, she was very protective of them and would chase off the cats, but without the kittens, she is not doing that any longer. I will see her try to rub up against 2 of my cats although my adult female is not accepting of her right now. This is not Simone’s fault but 100% my cat’s.
As for the dogs, Simone has not had much interaction with them. The dogs primarily reside upstairs, while the cats stay on the lower level. While she had the kittens, she was very protective of them so we didn’t let the dogs anywhere down here. Since the kittens are now gone, my small dog has been downstairs and Simone is doing ok with her although I can tell she is a little unsure yet. But I think she may come around with her. Simone did recently get adopted at the same time as her kittens to a home with a 60pound dog and kitten and it didn’t go well and she did not get along with the dog actually going after him. We won’t know if it was because she was hormonal from just going through her spay and also just being separated from her babies or was the intro too soon or does she just need a home without large dogs. For right now, the dogs are a bit of an unknown for us. For a home with just cats or no other pets, Simone would be an absolute no brainer. She really is the best cat and I just love her so much. I can’t wait for her to find her forever home where she feels safe and loved.
