HistoryandA note from the foster:‍ Simone came to rescue in January as a pregnant black polydactyly house panther with a suspected due date of the end of February.  From the minute I got her, she was the friendliest cat I have ever had.  Most cats would be cautious of strangers after what she had just been through, but she was great from the moment we met.  Since we had some time before the babies would arrive, we spent a lot of time in her space cuddling, playing, and just getting to know each other.  Eventually she got to spend time roaming the house and meeting my resident cats.  But then on super bowl Sunday - the day before her ultrasound appointment - Simone started acting extra affectionate and we soon discovered she was close to giving birth.  Her original ultrasound must have been off and on Monday February 9th, as soon as I got home to check on her, she gave birth to three tiny black kittens (Mocha, Matcha, and Brew)- about 3 weeks earlier than we had originally thought. Unfortunately, no extra toes on any of the babies but they were all healthy and perfect.  She has now done her job as a mom and her babies are off to their new homes so now it is time to find the perfect home for Miss Simone.

Simone is a very friendly, sweet, beautiful, and affectionate cat.  She is pretty young herself at maybe a little over a year so she is also very playful.  Pom Poms are her favorite toys as well as wand toys and lazer pointers.  She enjoys time in our catio and window perches watching the birds.  She loves her different cat trees and uses her scratching posts for all of those extra toes.  She is a great coworker if you work for home and will hang out on your desk while you work.  She has been really good using her litter box with absolutely no issues.  She loves to get all the pets and purrs a lot.  She is just the sweetest girl.

She is currently in our home with 3 resident cats and 4 resident dogs.  She gets along with the cats pretty well.  When she had kittens here, she was very protective of them and would chase off the cats, but without the kittens, she is not doing that any longer.  I will see her try to rub up against 2 of my cats although my adult female is not accepting of her right now.  This is not Simone’s fault but 100% my cat’s.

As for the dogs, Simone has not had much interaction with them.  The dogs primarily reside upstairs, while the cats stay on the lower level.  While she had the kittens, she was very protective of them so we didn’t let the dogs anywhere down here.  Since the kittens are now gone, my small dog has been downstairs and Simone is doing ok with her although I can tell she is a little unsure yet.  But I think she may come around with her.  Simone did recently get adopted at the same time as her kittens to a home with a 60pound dog and kitten and it didn’t go well and she did not get along with the dog actually going after him.  We won’t know if it was because she was hormonal from just going through her spay and also just being separated from her babies or was the intro too soon or does she just need a home without large dogs.  For right now, the dogs are a bit of an unknown for us.  For a home with just cats or no other pets, Simone would be an absolute no brainer.  She really is the best cat and I just love her so much.  I can’t wait for her to find her forever home where she feels safe and loved.

If you want to see more pictures of Simone and her kittens and all about her time with me in rescue, we have a private facebook group for “Simone and her Beans”.  Please feel free to join the group and enjoy all of the pictures and videos.
