History: Zipper is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Zipper is a 15-pound, Bichon breeder release. He has had a challenging start at life, including a recent case of kennel cough and a double ear infection (he has recovered from both), but you can’t tell based on his sweet personality. When I first picked him up, he was very fearful of the world. Each day though, he comes a little bit more out of his shell. He has become comfortable in my house, and I can see the typical Bichon-like, happy personality coming through. He is happy whenever he can be with his people (or other dogs) in a safe space. His laid-back personality makes him easy to take care of, and he seems grateful to be in a home environment. He is learning how to play with other dogs, and likes to follow them around. I’ve included a few pics of him with Coco’s Heart alum, Buddy, who he adores. He is also happy to sleep on the couch or on his dog bed. He doesn’t bark much, but is nervous in his crate. We are working on potty training. He wears a belly band, as he does have problems with marking. This should improve after he gets neutered. He is comfortable going out to go potty in the yard and has been very slowly interested in exploring the world outside.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
