Ziggy

Adoption Status: Pending

Gender: Male
Breed: Mini Poodle
Age: DOB: 05/2025
Weight: TBA
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown
Kid Friendly: Seems to be
House Trained: Doing great!

History: Ziggy is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon!

A Note from the Foster: He is a very sweet, affectionate little boy that just wants to be loved and to feel safe. He was very scared at first and cowered at every approach. He is gaining confidence and getting better at knowing he can trust.  His favorite things to do are snuggle on the couch and get petted or just be next to you. He will make soft cries when he can’t see his foster or is feeling a little unsure. Ziggy will sleep in a crate next to me at night. He is very quiet, sleeps all night, and keeps his crate clean. In the mornings he will go out to go potty if I go out with him. I don’t think it will be long before he does it all by himself. He just needs some reassurance as things are still so new to him. He occasionally has an accident in the house, but this will soon be resolved as well. He is smart and eager to please.

Ziggy is just discovering toys and is starting to chew on them. He does exceptionally well on a leash and likes to go for walks. He stays right by my side and never pulls on the leash.

This sweet guy isn’t super food motivated. He doesn’t really like treats. He prefers to eat when in his crate at night, even though he has food and water available to him throughout the day. This will most likely change as he realizes he has a steady supply of food available to him.

Ziggy can be left alone but prefers to have room to roam rather than be put into a crate. He has not had any accidents and is calmer if not kenneled when we are away. He has been exposed to older children and does well with them. He has not had the opportunity to be with another dog or interact with any cats.

This shy, loving pup is looking for a place to feel loved, safe, and have plenty of cuddle time. He is still discovering how wonderful life can be when given a second chance. If you are looking for a gentle soul who just needs a little time to warm up, this is your boy. He will be your best friend, given the chance.

Adoption Fee: $760 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
