History: Verona is a super beautiful girl who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart. She is working on her trust and confidence and is hoping to find a patient family of her very own soon!
A Note from the Foster: Verona is a super sweet, nervous little girl with the softest coat who is adjusting to life in a home instead of a commercial breeder. She could use some help and patience learning all the ins and outs of being a companion dog.
She's super sweet with people. She likes to give little kisses and be a little shadow. She loves getting pets, especially scratches on her forehead. She will wag her tail when she sees her foster family. Such a sweetie!
She would do well with another dog in the home that can teach her how to be a dog. She likes to cuddle with calmer dogs but does like her space and doesn't like other dogs getting too close to her when she's in her kennel.
She is very scared of a slip lead and would hide and shake when she saw it but does well wearing a harness and dragging a leash around. She has started some leash training but will follow to go in and out of the house. She does not currently do stairs/needs to be carried.
She hasn't had any accidents in her crate but has mainly been going on puppy pads in a playpen area outside of her crate. She has started going potty outside but pooping outside is a work in progress.
She likes spending time in a playpen area or room with access to her kennel. She likes being near people, especially at night, but gets anxious if she has access to a large area of the house. She's just not used to all of that space.
Adoption Fee: $560 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
