History: Treacle is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Sweet as a Truffle & Twice as Small! Meet Your New Shadow. At just 6 pounds, this 7-year-old Chocolate Pomeranian is a tiny bundle of pure devotion. After spending his first seven years in a commercial breeding facility, Treacle is finally discovering the "good life"—and he wants to spend every second of it with you! He is a world-class cuddler who actively seeks out human affection. He loves men, women, and other dogs alike. While he’s not a hiking pro, he is the ultimate passenger for errands in a stroller or sling. He walks short distances on a leash and will let you know when he is done with walking by attempting to climb your leg so that you pick him up and carry him. At night, he’ll sleep quietly in his crate right next to your bed, just happy to know you’re there.
His "Must-Haves" Checklist:
A "Homebody" Family: He gets lonely and will bark when you leave, eventually settling down; but would prefer a family that is home often, or open to doggy daycare or dogsitters.
Patience with Potty Training: Because he was never let out in his past life, he is still learning the ropes. He’s a work in progress, but remember: tiny dog, tiny mess!
A Soft Touch: He hasn't been around young kids yet, but with his gentle soul and an "open-door" crate for his own space, he should do just fine. Living with a full house of kids and a little more chaos may not be his jam though.
A Chauffeur: He prefers being carried or tucked into a bag over long treks on foot. He is also a good car passenger and will lay there quietly in his crate.
This resilient little guy has so much love to give and just needs a patient heart to help him navigate his new world. Treacle has amazed us in just a short time how happy he is about his new life, with his tail wagging every time you talk to him. We are excited to see his happiness blossom with a family to call his own!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful!
