Tova

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Female
Breed: Shepherd Mix
Age: Est DOB: 09/2025
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Likely due to young age
Kid Friendly: Yes
House Trained: Doing great!

History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own!

A Note from the Foster: Tova is a young, energetic little pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s currently in a loving foster home, soaking up attention, learning new things, and proving every day what a bright and affectionate girl she is.

Tova loves to be around her humans. Wherever her foster family goes, she wants to tag along or be carried along. She also enjoys spending time with her dog buddies. She loves to wrestle with her littermate and her 40-pound foster sister. Tova is a brave little girl who enjoys being around others. Like many puppies, she’s still teething and needs reminders not to chew on pant legs or shoes—especially when you’re walking, because she’s sure that means it’s playtime.

Tova gets chilly outside, so her foster mom keeps her bundled up in a little sweater. It's both practical and ridiculously cute.

When it comes to potty training, Tova is off to a great start. While she’s not fully trained throughout the home yet, she consistently uses the designated potty area and pee pads in her playpen. With maturity, consistency, and more freedom as she grows, she should be very trainable.

Her foster mom suspects she may be a shepherd–husky–doberman–bully mix (she does adorable tiny howls!), but whatever her breed blend, she’s all charm and sweetness.

Tova currently lives with two young children who adore carrying her around. She enjoys the attention, but because she can get mouthy and might try to nibble on hair or socks, dog-savvy kids who understand puppy behavior would be the best fit.

At night, Tova happily curls up with her sibling in a fuzzy blanket, ready to recharge for another day of play, cuddles, and following her people around.

If you’re looking for a loving, people-oriented puppy who wants nothing more than to be part of your daily life, Tova might be your perfect match. Apply to meet her today! 🐾💗

Adoption Fee: $760 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
