History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!

A Note from the Foster: Nice to meet you, my name is "Sweet Heart"

I came all the way from Texas, where the start of my life was rough. Life wasn't always filled with cuddles, soft beds, or full food bowls. I may have had a rocky beginning, but that just means my heart is even bigger. I can't wait to see what life has in store for me - new friends, new adventures, and a forever kind of love.

My foster family has been calling me "Pearl" - They told me the name Pearl means innocence & timeless beauty. They said it symbolizes me perfectly! 🤍

I'm a gorgeous Siberian Husky who is estimated to be around 2-3 years olds. As you might be able to tell, I am still underweight and have some hairloss on my body. I have made so much improvement with my health already.

I have been learning the ropes of living in a home - I am working on potty training & am catching on quick. I have had a couple accidents here & there as I am still figuring out how to hint that I need to go outside.

I'm a curious girl who tends to get into things when given the opportunity, I am still learning what is for me and what is not.

I'm kennel trained! At times, I get opinionated about being stuck in my kennel when I would rather be hanging out with my foster family (My foster mom thinks no shared walls will be best for me! - Like a true husky, I tend to be very vocal) I sleep in my kennel without a sound throughout the night.

I have been working hard on training! - I have a tendancy to want to jump on/hug people when I first meet them but have been learning to not jump! I have mastered "sit" & "kennel up" and am learning "down" and "come". I'm very smart and tend to learn quickly. I get very excited when there are treats present so keeping me focused on what I'm being asked can sometimes be challenging.

I love making dog friends & have been loving having multiple foster siblings! I also have not met a person that I don't love (adults & kids!). I am always up for making new friends (unsure about cats at this time as huskies can tend to have a high prey drive!)

I could play and wrestle with my foster sibings all day but I also enjoy cuddles on the couch, I prefer to be where my people are!

Since I went so long without food I tend to get protective over it. I get my food and high value items in my kennel to prevent any resource gaurding. I have not shown any signs of resource gaurding with toys.

I'm always up for an adventure! I am learning how to walk on a leash & have been catching on to walking nicely. I get excited to see other people and dogs on walks and will sometimes bark but am easily redirected by treats.

I have a ton of energy and would do best in a home that can meet the physical and mental needs of a husky! Please do research on my breed to see if I might be the best fit for you!

If you think you could give me the best life & think I would be a good fit, please apply to adopt me, you won't regret it!

With Love, Pearl/Sweet Heart 🤍🐾

Adoption Fee: $510 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
