History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!
A Note from the Foster: Everyone meet Sunday! We’ve been calling him Mo because he has a little cowlick on the back side of his head that looks like a mohawk! His ears were pretty pinned back at first and they posted up shortly after he came into our home and got more comfortable. Mo is our first foster puppy and we are so impressed with how quickly he’s been learning! When we brought him into our home we were told he would basically be starting from square one with training and he’s improved so much in such a short time! He is very food motivated with training and learning what new foods are. We normally stick to training treats but with him knowing so little we have been giving him a little extra, strawberries, pieces of bread, crackers, etc. Potty training is coming along but we are still working on it with lots of positive snuggles and consistency. We’re also working on crate training! He cries for about 5-10 minutes after we put him in there but he calms himself down pretty quickly and will fall asleep! We have been having him sleep in there at night and he does well from about 10pm to 6am!
In our home we have two resident dogs and one cat. Mo is very curious about our larger dog who is teaching him boundaries. He plays very well with our smaller dog and just needs a reminder once in a while to be gentle with those sharp puppy teeth! He is so gentle and sweet with our one year old cat!
Mo does very well in the car, I think it’s relaxing to him because he always falls asleep! He also loves to be held and when he falls asleep after play time always makes sure we’re near by.
We can’t wait to find him the best forever family and are doing our best to prepare him for when he comes home to you!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
