A Note from the Foster: Sugar Bean is looking for a forever family- but here is the thing, she doesn't want to share you... can you blame her though? After all she has been through, it's only fair that we do our best to find her a forever home she will thrive in, one without other dogs.
Finding homes without dogs of their own is a tall order. Almost all our foster families have multiple dogs living in their homes. So, we are on a mission, hoping that the right person will see this post and be able to help her!
About Miss Sugar Bean:
Other dogs make Sugar very uncomfortable, nervous, and defensive; she wasn't always treated the best by other dogs, so we invested in training for her to help her overcome and grow. The good news is, she is making great progress, and her trainer feels she should be able to comfortably exist around other dogs on walks, at the vet, etc. with continued practice. But she would still be happiest if she didn't have to share her home with another dog. She also has a high prey drive so cats, chickens, and other small animals are not recommended.
The good stuff, there's a lot of it! <3

- Demeanor: She is sweet and friendly with all humans she has met so far.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
