History: I am Quattro’s puppy and was born in rescue!
We welcomed this beautiful momma dog, Quattro to rescue from Northern MN when she was found to be expecting a litter of puppies. Her whelping and pregnancy unfortunately was a tougher one as she lost about half of her litter despite so much effort, tough work, and love from their foster mom and our veterinary team. The remaining four puppies are thriving and doing well however as they are now officially ready to start their journeys in finding forever homes of their very own soon!
A Note from the Foster: Every family needs a Steve.
I welcomed these puppies’ mama, Quattro, into rescue from northern Minnesota when she was extremely pregnant and very timid. She gave birth to nine puppies on January 31, and while she was an incredibly devoted mom, heartbreakingly only four of her babies survived. We believe poor nutrition during pregnancy and possibly an early delivery contributed to the others failing to thrive.
The four boys she has raised are now happy, playful, adventurous puppies who absolutely love life. They adore being outside, wrestling with each other, investigating everything around them, and soaking up affection from their people. Watching them grow stronger and more confident every day has been truly special.
Steve has a wonderful balance of playful curiosity and calm affection. At just seven weeks old and nearing 10 pounds, he is expected to grow into a medium-to-large dog.
Steve enjoys all the normal puppy fun — wrestling with his siblings, exploring the yard, and chasing anything that moves — but he also has a thoughtful and protective side. During a recent photo session, while the puppies were having their pictures taken and the photographer was squeaking toys to get their attention, Steve was the only one who “spoke up” as if to say, “Hey! Don’t tease my brother!” He clearly takes his role as watcher and protector seriously.
He absolutely adores being held and will often fall asleep in my arms. Steve thrives on connection and loves being close to his people.
He is already getting used to spending time outside and is beginning to learn early potty habits.
Steve will make a fantastic companion for a home looking for a loving, affectionate puppy with both a playful spirit and a loyal heart.
Adoption Fee: $760 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
