History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own!
A Note from the Foster: Scrap is a loyal, loving, and wonderfully goofy guy who enjoys the simple things in life. He loves playing with his favorite toys, chewing on a good bone, watching the world go by from a window, and relaxing in his cozy spot on the recliner. Once Scrap bonds with someone, he is incredibly devoted and happiest just being near the people he trusts.
Scrap would do best in a calm home environment as an only dog, though he may be able to live with the right female dog. He is not able to be around male dogs, including on walks or through nearby fencing. Because of this, Scrap is looking for a more rural home environment where he won’t frequently encounter other dogs. A home with a securely fenced yard and space from close neighbors would allow him to relax and enjoy being outside.
During play, Scrap can be pretty mouthy and is still learning appropriate play styles. Because of this, he would do best in a home without small children. He is looking for a family who understands dog behavior and can help reinforce boundaries.
Scrap has already shown that he is a quick learner and has started working on basic obedience skills. He responds well to structure and consistency and would thrive with an adopter who is excited to continue working with him and helping him build confidence.
Scrap may not be the right fit for every home—but for the right person, he will be an incredibly loyal, fun, and rewarding companion. 🧡
Adoption Fee: $510 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
