Rocky

Adoption Status: Pending

Gender: Male
Breed: Pitbull Terrier & American Bully Mix
Age: Est DOB: 08/2023
Weight: 48 lbs
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown
Kid Friendly: Yes
House Trained: Doing great!

History:  We received a plea to help three very thin and sweet bully mixes from a local impound. They arrived to rescue and immediately melted our hearts with how sweet and loving they each are. They have their paws crossed to find forever homes of their very own soon!

A Note from the Foster: LOOK AT THAT FACE! Rocky is a 2.5 year old American Bully that is absolutely a big, block-headed marshmallow. He is on a refeeding plan to get his weight back to where it should be. Rocky is super chill in the house. He melts at the feet of everyone he meets and loves nothing more than being close to people. He is an expert cuddler. He wants to be wherever you are. Because of this, he would probably do best in a home where you are home more often than you are not.

He is amazing around kids, rides well in the car, does great in a crate, and likes to mosey on walks (no long hikes for this pup!). He does like to play some with a ball, but he seems to be a lower energy guy. He is responsive when it comes to training and is very food-motivated, but it will take some consistency to get him on the best track with manners and boundaries. Food and water make Rocky into a bit of a slobber monster, but that’s nothing that a wipe of a towel can’t fix.

If you’re looking for a constant companion that wants nothing but love, Rocky is your doggo!

Adoption Fee: $510 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
