Ravenna

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Ravenna is available as a foster to adopt

Gender: Female
Breed: Bichon Frise
Age: Est DOB: 12/2021
Weight: TBA
Dog Friendly: Yes- would do best w/ another dog
Cat Friendly: Unknown
Kid Friendly: Unknown
House Trained: Doing great!

History: Ravenna is a super beautiful girl who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart. She is working on her trust and confidence and is hoping to find a patient family of her very own soon!

A Note from the Foster: Meet Ravenna, or Ravi as we call her

Ideal home: quiet, patient, another dog preferred

Energy level: low to moderate

Experience level: best with someone familiar with shy or undersocialized dogs

Ravi is learning what life as a house dog looks like after spending her first four years in a breeding environment and she’s discovering it’s pretty great.

She’s a shy, gentle girl with people at first, but she warms up with time and patience. With other dogs, it’s a different story. She bonded with her foster siblings almost instantly and loves to play. A confident, friendly dog in the home will help her continue to build trust and feel secure.

Ravi is making steady progress with leash walking and potty training. She recently went on her first walk and loved taking in all the new smells. She’s still unsure about stairs and elevated surfaces, so she’ll need continued support and encouragement as she builds confidence.

She has a curious nature and is starting to enjoy the little things, like treats. She had never had one before and now does a full happy dance at mealtime.

Ravi sleeps well in her kennel and keeps her space clean. She’s also beginning short, positive kennel training sessions throughout the day.

She does not like being alone and will vocalize if left isolated. Because of this, she would do best in a home with another dog or with someone who is home most of the time.

As she settles in, Ravi is starting to seek out affection and enjoys gentle, slow interactions. She loves pets on her head, ears, chest, and back, and is beginning to show her sweet, cuddly side.

Ravi is a soft, sensitive dog who will thrive in a calm, patient home. With time and consistency, she’s going to be an incredibly loving companion.

Adoption Fee: $560 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
