History: We welcomed a group of deserving friends recently from a partnering organization of ours, Villalobos Animal Rescue. They are all settling into foster homes and doing great, each dreaming of finding forever homes of their own soon!
A Note from the Foster: My name is Peeta, but my foster dad loves to call me Pepe’ for some reason….
I came into rescue all the way from Louisiana with my sister Katniss.
I have settled perfectly into my foster family’s home and I think they secretly love me!
They do not have cats or kids. I am young enough I think I would do good with either. I love to lay on the couch and watch the squirrels play on the bird feeders and they are happy I don’t react to that. I do have 2 doggie buddies that I love. I have even met the neighbor dog and played with her too. I love running around the backyard and chewing on sticks and pinecones.
They have brought me to an outdoor bar just to get me more socialized. I did pretty good but having my 2 buddies by my side definitely gives me more confidence. They say it’s important for me to have a family that will continue to bring me out and about because I do acclimate fast to different things but I do need to continue to meet new people and areas to be the most rounded dog I can be!
What I really good at is being in my crate! They say I get an A+ in that area
I have long days in the crate while they are at work. And I love sleeping in my crate and I’m perfectly quiet at all times!
I even run right into my crate for feeding time and sit in there with the door open waiting to be fed.
I also a super good listener. If I hear the word ‘no’ I understand right away. I’m a huge people pleaser and just want to try my best. I also love to lay on laps and sleep. My foster mom loves to look at my tiny underbite when I do this because she says it’s the cutest.
Anyway, I think I’m a pretty amazing dog and would love a home that can continue to work on my confidence. So don’t let my color or white ‘old man’ face scare you off, because I’m still a young guy who has lots of love to give!
Adoption Fee: $760 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
