Panther

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Male
Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
Age: Est DOB: 01/2025
Weight: 53 lbs
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: In Progress
Kid Friendly: Yes
House Trained: Yes

History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. We continue to help over the winter months of dogs needing help out of the cold!

A Note from the Foster: I’ve been settling into my new foster home very well. My new dog friend and I are best buds already. I’ve been getting plenty of exercise playing in all the snow in the backyard. It is so fun! My foster mom tells me I have a special talent- bounding! When I’m playing I will jump in the air tucking all four legs up at the same time!  I only bound outside. My foster mom tells me I have good manners inside. I learned quickly to lay on my bed and not jump on furniture. I go inside my crate happily with a couple treats and rest quietly. When I find something that is not a dog toy (shoe, mitten) I can be redirected. I’m doing well with sit, working on stay and down. I overdo it when practicing down and roll all the way on to my back. I just get so excited for a treat! I really enjoy time with my foster parents, they say all I want is love and belly rubs. Sometimes I jump up to be close to them, so I’m working on that. There’s something new here that I’ve smelled and heard on the other side of the door-CATS! I am very interested so we’re taking it slow and hope we can be friends. TBD. Overall things have been going well, and I know each day is bringing me closer to finding my forever home! Please consider adopting me!

Adoption Fee: $560 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
