Paisley

Adoption Status: Pending

Gender: Female
Breed: Labrador Retriever & Pitbull Terrier Mix
Age: Est DOB: 07/2025
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Likely due to young age
Kid Friendly: Likely due to young age
House Trained: Doing great!

History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own!

A Note from the Foster: Paisley is settling in beautifully with her foster family and making amazing progress every day!

This sweet girl is a seriously quick learner. She knows sit and down, goes right into her kennel on command, and waits patiently for the ok before eating her meals or leaving her crate. She sleeps through the night in her kennel without any issues. She's been making incredible progress on leash manners in a short time and walks nicely by your side with only the occasional reminder, though she still gets a little excited about birds and other dogs on walks.

Paisley recently attended her first adoption event where she met several new dogs and lots of new people. She did great with all of them! While she was more interested in exploring the store than schmoozing, she was calm and well-behaved the whole time. She can still be a little shy around new people and prefers to observe from a safe distance before deciding if someone is worth meeting, but she's getting braver every week.

Paisley is on a low dose anti-anxiety medication that has been working really well. She's grown so much in confidence since arriving in her foster home. She's more willing to explore on her own, both inside the house and out in the backyard, and she's learning to relax and just hang out while her foster family goes about their day. She's been doing great on housetraining with only occasional minor accidents.

Paisley is a beautiful brown lab mix with striking eyes, a thick soft coat, and the sweetest face. She's about 10 months old with so much potential. She loves to give kisses and will lick just about anything and anyone given the chance! She's an affectionate girl who likes to be near her people and is building her independence more every day.

Paisley needs a forever home that will keep up the great work and give her the love and consistency she deserves. Could that be you?

Adoption Fee: $560 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
