History: I am Mayzee’s puppy and was born in rescue!
A beautiful stocky heeler mix named Mayzee arrived to rescue when she was found as a pregnant stray in a very rural area where she was fending for herself with another dog. She arrived to rescue very scared and uncertain of people around her. She had her litter of puppies and her journey with her puppies in rescue have been unique to work towards gaining her trust while helping her with her confidence.
Her puppies are doing well however and are each ready to start their journeys in finding forever homes of their very own soon!
Heeler and heeler mix dogs are a working dog breed and would thrive best in an active household that is excited to provide lots of physical exercise and go through training. These dogs are very smart and love learning. They do best when they have a job to do and are generally not couch potatoes. They can also make great family pets as long as they are still given the appropriate outlets for their energy and drive. We recommend doing research on the Heeler aka Australian cattle dog breed prior to applying to adopt to ensure they are a good fit for your family.
A Note from the Foster: Hi there, I'm Mark!
If you're looking for an adventure buddy, I'm your man! I'm a curious pup who loves to explore. I'm only 9 weeks old but I'm already getting the hang of crate and potty training - pretty impressive, right? I love to play with other dogs, or if there is no one to play with I'm happy to lay down and chew on a bone. My foster mom says my baby blue eyes and my forehead wrinkles make it VERY hard to say no to me...hopefully my charm works on you too! 😉
Adoption Fee: $760 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
