History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!
A Note from the Foster: Maggie Lou is simply a joy! This senior lab girl does not feel her age at all, she is full of life, playing with toys, running in the yard and going for walks.. she is up for anything! A day to just lounge at home? She just wants to be where you are and is easy to lounge at home to just chill or go out and about!
Maggie is very easy to care for. She is fully house trained, fully kennel trained and sometimes likes to lay in her kennel on her own just to rest. She does not bark at anything and is one of the happiest dogs in the world!
Maggie does ok with other dogs but is looking for a home that she can be the only pet. She likes to have all the attention and toys to herself. She has met other dogs and been able to be with them, however, has not enjoyed being with them long term. She passes other dogs on walks and does very well ignoring them. She does not mind being around them short term. Maggie has some prey drive and likes to chase squirrels and birds, she would not be good in a home with cats.
Maggie is currently a little overweight and on a diet, she is also on a daily joint supplement to help her old bones because the vet team saw some arthritis on the x-rays. You would not know she has it though because she moves and runs around like a 3 year old! Nothing seems to slow her down. She is a happy go lucky senior gal and she is hoping to find her adoptive family soon!
Adoption Fee: $510 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
