Gender: Female
Breed: Lab & Terrier Mix
Age: Est DOB: 11/2024
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Likely due to young age
House Trained: Doing great!
History: We recently welcomed a group of deserving dogs who needed help from overcrowded rural shelters in Texas. They are settling into their foster homes and doing well as they start their journey in finding their forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Hi, I’m Lainey - aka your new bestie! I’m just a girl with giant ears looking to find my fur-ever home. Here are my highlights:
🐾People-Friendly 😁👋: I love every person I meet and watch strangers in public with a wagging tail to see if they’ll come say hi.
🐾Dog-Friendly 🐶: I get along great with my furry foster siblings. I do tend to resource guard things I find high value but over time I figured out sharing with the resident dogs in my foster home. Once I even had a puppy sleepover (with no toys and treats) and we played the whole time, even though we just met!
🐾Cat-Friendly 🐱: I’m always playing with the resident cat! Sometimes we play too hard or I chase her when she runs but I can be redirected pretty easily.
🐾 Medium Energy 🎾🦴: I’m happy to play with you and go for a walk, but I can also self entertain and enjoy the occasional snuggle.
🐾Easy to Train 🥰: I’m an incredibly smart puppy! I’m crate-trained and potty-trained and know most basic commands (sit, down, leave it, etc). I also have some pretty cool party tricks like shake, high five, boop (touch with my nose), roll over, and spin! I’m very food-motivated which has made training a breeze!
🐾Good in the Car 🚗: I do well riding in the car - usually sitting on someone’s lap or with a doggy seatbelt. In the car I’m usually laying down or sticking my nose out the window.
I’m a sweet and affectionate girl who would just love to be part of your family! I love hanging out with my foster family - playing, walking, or even just chilling. I’m easy to train and like going out to make new friends. I could be your most amazing friend if you give me the chance!
Adoption Fee: $750 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
