History: Kizzy is a super beautiful girl who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart. She is working on her trust and confidence and is hoping to find a patient family of her very own soon!
Kizzy has had confirmation of her elevated kidney values which were noted at her intake exam late last month. This means that she has chronic kidney disease. We believe she is at an early stage and are uncertain at what rate it will progress. We will be attempting to measure an awake peripheral blood pressure on her to further stage her kidney disease. This is helpful in staging and determining the best treatment that will give her a good quality of life and extend her time as much as possible.
For now, she is on a prescription food formulated for the specific needs of a dog in with early-stage kidney disease.
A Note from the Foster: Hello my name is Kizzy. Although my current haircut says otherwise, I am a Norwich Terrier. I’m 11 years old however, that doesn’t stop me from being my typical terrier self and seeking out anything my nose finds. I love walks as long as they don’t get too long! I’ve been to the farm and met all the critters and did great! Per usual I think I’m the biggest animal around so I like to get up close and personal with everything but I’m all talk. Puppies do get to be a bit overwhelming so if I could get a break from them that’s all I need. Although I don’t show timidness around much, I am a little shy with people. Crazy right, all I need is some time to meet you and I won’t leave your side. I love snuggles on the couch and sleeping on car rides! Naps in the sun I have found are amazing too! I would love to find someone who enjoys the simple life. Short walks, afternoon naps in the sun and sitting outside to watch the sunsets! I haven’t had many accidents in the house as long as I’m let out on a regular basis (after I eat and before bed). In my kennel I do great and don’t make a peep minus my snoring!
I would prefer a home without younger children or energetic dogs just because I still get overwhelmed by people but if they’re gentle, I think we could make something work!
Lastly being I’m 11, I do have a few lumps and bumps that decided to show up but they are harmless. I do have one final blood test and spaying/dental appointment in the end of May. That being said I am a part of the foster to adopt program.
Update 5/20- Well now that my coat is starting to grow out, I’m starting to look a little more like my breed! However, these little legs are not getting longer so I still don’t like to walk past about a mile. After that I start showing off my grandma speed!
Turns out I maybe was lying about not getting along with puppies. I mean who really can’t resist them! Once I get to know someone I love to play and wrestle like I’m the biggest dog in the room! But the second I get tired I’m snuggling up on your lap for my power nap.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
