History and A note from the foster: *recommend adopting with sister, or with another active cat in the home
Pot and Kettle arrived to us back in October as wee kittens! Shortly after arrival we realized they had ringworm. Ringworm is not a worm as the name suggests, it’s a fungus that causes itchy, scaly patches on the skin and can cause hair loss. This is a zoonotic fungus meaning other animals as well has humans can get it, so extra caution had to be given in the foster home. This was not physically harmful to them; it just required a lot of extra cleaning, weekly medicated baths, meds, and mostly time. Because it takes some time to resolve, they’ve been under strict quarantine. They are now ringworm free and ready to find their happily ev-fur after!
They are the sweetest girls, and I am so glad they’ve had one another to rely one as they got through their treatments. Because they must be more sequestered to avoid the whole house getting ringworm, they are very eager to explore, meet the other cats, and people. They are going to LOVE having a whole house to roam, play, and nap. They are professional eaters, especially for wet food! They’ve started to be super interested in the sink and how this magical device is not only fun but provides the sacred water. They use their box like a pro. They are proper ladies’ sans the moments when the kitten goblin takes over and they have to get some energy out. But after that, right back to prim and proper ladies. Since they’ve been in rescue, I may have heard a handful of ‘mews’, I don’t know what their real strong meow sounds like! Because they’ve been through so much together and have only had each other as playmates, it’s important that they either go together, or into a home that has another playful cat. They have kitten energy and do a great job entertaining each other, so they would really like someone to play with in their fur-ever home.
Whoever adopts these girls are in for a special time – I think they are going to be just amazing cats. Plus, they are adorable black house panthers.
