History: We recently welcomed a group of animals who needed help from various unfortunate situations in rural areas down south. Whether overcrowded shelters or unclaimed impounds, they have a second chance at finding their forever homes and hope to meet you soon!
A Note from the Foster: 🐾 Meet Joffrey – Your Future Best Friend! 🐾
Joffrey is an 11-week-old male Dachshund mix, currently weighing about 13 pounds, with a heart full of love and a happy, playful spirit. He’s the perfect balance of sweet cuddle bug and energetic puppy, and he does a wonderful job settling down when it’s time to relax.
Joffrey has been fantastic with my 6-year-old female Frenchie — they play well together, and he’s very respectful of her cues when she wants to be left alone. He’s a quick learner who continues to impress us daily. He learned the stairs on his very first try, loves to play fetch, and is already working on commands like sit and stay. When told “no,” he listens and responds well.

Still adjusting to daytime kennel time, but only whines for the first 5–10 minutes
Does not chew on things he shouldn’t and happily focuses on his toys instead
Joffrey is alert but not overly vocal — he may bark when someone comes to the door, but settles quickly once he realizes it’s a friendly face. During the day, he loves being near his people and cuddling, while also learning to be more independent with each passing day.
This sweet boy is still young and growing, and he is truly a positive bundle of joy who will thrive in a loving home ready to continue his training and shower him with affection.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful!
