History: Jazzie is a beautiful little lady who was recently surrendered to rescue. She is so loving and working hard on her confidence building. She hopes to find her forever home soon! She is shy and timid so a patient and understanding family will be important for her success long-term.
A Note from the Foster: Jazzie (we sometimes call her Honey) is a smart, curious and energetic little doodle. Her favorite things to do: Eat, play and snuggle. She is usually close on the heels of her foster mom. In fact we put a bell on her collar, so we know where she is.
When she arrived at rescue, she had really long hair. She went to the groomer and came out a new girl! The groomer said she was “more than patient and calm for the entire grooming process”.
She is still learning about the big new world. She spends a lot of our ‘walk’ time looking and listening and not doing so much walking. She barks at people she doesn’t recognize and is still nervous about new sounds and quick movements.
She loves treats and is easy to teach tricks. She already knows how to sit and shake. She can walk several steps on her back two feet, so our next project is to teach her to dance!
Jazzie has a tiny little underbite which gives her the sweetest smile. She is very spunky and loves toys. Her favorite place to nap is on your lap. She sniffed the cats at Angel’s with interest, so I think she’d be OK with cats.
Her list of positives:
-She is great in the car; she just curls up and takes a nap.
-She is a good sleeper. She loves her sleeping crate as long as she can see her foster mom. She wakes up once or twice during the night for a potty break, but she settles right back down. She keeps her crate clean.
Things we are working on:
Daytime crating: She doesn’t like being in her daytime crate if she thinks she is missing out on something going on elsewhere. She has FOMO!
Counter Surfing: Yes, this little 13 lb. puppy would love to surf your counters. She tries so hard to jump up there, especially when we are putting food into her bowl (but hasn’t made it – YET!).
She would be fine in a home with other dogs. However she would also love to be the only so she can have ALL of the attention.
Adoption Fee: Our adoption fees typically vary from $510-$1260 + tax. Our coordinator will be in touch with you with specific information during the application processing. For more information on where our animals come from, here is some additional information. Thank you!
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
