A Note from the Foster:Jake — Texas pup who knows what he loves (and what he doesn’t) 🌵

Hey! I’m Jake — born in Texas but enjoying life in Wisconsin.

I may be young and small right now, but I am big enough for lots of love and no tolerance for snow ❄️ (seriously… nope). My foster mom keeps saying I will get used to it and I am really trying to, but so far I think I'd rather take sunshine over frostbite any day.

A few things about me:
• I came to Wisconsin with two awesome brothers, Dax and Melvin (don't tell them I said this, but I'm the most handsome of the three of us)
• I’m very proud to be potty-trained already (no brag, just facts 🏆). The only time I have accidents is when the humans aren't paying attention to me telling them I have to go potty
• I love other dogs to play with. I have a foster dog sister who is my BFF and we play all the time. I even look a lot like her. I also have two foster dog brothers and I am winning them over with my charm and calm personality. I am also very respectful of them when they let me know they aren't interested in playing with me. 🐶💕.
• Cuddling? Yes please.

Also…
• Not a huge fan of my kennel (really prefer human couches, laps and beds), but I am working on it. It helps when I get treats in there to help pass the time.

• I walk pretty good on a leash for my age. I don't pull and in fact I prefer to walk close to my humans.

• I sound confident, but I am actually shy on first meeting. It doesn't take me long to get comfortable though, so just be patient with me.

What I really want:
A family of my own who is going to love me, spoil me and continue to show me how good life can be up here in the Midwest!

Adoption Fee: $760 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
