History: I am a dog from the Out of the Cold Rescue Effort!
We recently were arrived back to rescue with over 400+ dogs and 20+ cats looking for a second chance after being surrendered to rescue. They are each going through their own individual journeys while in rescue- many needing extensive medical attention for orthopedic care, dentals, skin issues, etc. Other health concerns were goopy eyes, ear infections, mange, and in need of a good bath and grooming.
These deserving souls will get all the care they need and be ready to go home to your family soon!
The photos on the white couch are off when they arrived to rescue. Many will have already improved with any physical medical concerns going on as well as many having received a good bath (and some a groom) after the photos have been taken. Our foster families help us keep each dog’s profile as up to date as possible however if you are interested in learning more, please apply to adopt and once approved and connected to a foster family, they can send updated photos, bios, etc!
A note from the foster: Ireland here, but for whatever reason, my littlest human foster brother thought my name should be Crystal. So for now that's what I go by, but you can call me anything you like because I am super smart and pick up on things quickly. My foster mom thinks it's because I'm food motivated and eager to please. I try my hardest to be a good girl and for the most part I am perfect if you ask me, but my foster mom says there are a few things I still can work on.
The biggest thing I'm learning right now is that I don't always get to play with the other dogs. No means no, and sometimes that's hard for me to understand because it's just so fun to play and be friendly - however a certain little chihuahua doesn't always agree! I'm extra patient with her and hope one day she will like me as much as I like her (or maybe I could find a new friend in my forever home)!
I'm also working on patience, but man can it be HARD! All the food smells so good and tastes so good and it's really awesome to not have to be hungry - my old life was a bit rough and I wasn't always sure I would get to eat on the regular. Now we do this thing called breakfast and dinner and it's just the best! I eat in my crate so that I can practice patience and mom uses a slow feeder because I'm a gobbler and apparently that can lead to stinky gas in our house (which mom isn't a fan of). I like the slow feeder and my puzzle toy - it helps me slow down and it gives my brain a workout too! Have I mentioned I'm pretty smart?
I like cuddling with the humans - big and small - and the foster dogs when they let me. I do pretty well on my leash with a harness and (....drum roll please....) I'm POTTY TRAINED! Yep, that's right! I wait at the door to let you know it's time to go, get outside, do my business and come in. Sometimes I wait for mom to come with me because I'm still gaining confidence, but I'm not one to mess in the house. I've also learned sit and wait which is apparently a pretty important skill for us canines.
It takes me a bit to settle in and understand I'm safe, but once I do I'm a great girl...and if you don't believe me, just ask my foster mom - she will vouch for me!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsively more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
