Grigio is available as a foster to adopt
Gender: Male
Breed: Bichon Frise
Age: DOB: 05/2022
Weight: 16 lbs
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Yes
House Trained: Doing great!
History: Grigio is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Grigio is transforming into the sweetest, most loving little companion! Lately, he has decided that he craves attention, and we love it for him. He has officially discovered the joy of being a lap dog and will happily curl up for a long cuddle session. If you want to be his instant best friend, just give him a good scratch right under his chin or behind his ears—he melts!
He has also proven to be a fantastic roommate for pretty much any pet. He does wonderfully with both big and small dogs, using their confidence to help build his own. He also met cats recently and did great—he’s curious but very respectful, showing no aggression or fear. He also spent time around older kids (tweens and teens) and did beautifully! Because he is still building up his confidence, he’d likely do best in a home with older children or a calm environment, with or without other pets.
Grigio is still a curious explorer who loves his yard time, and we are continuing to practice his leash walks. He recently conquered a full flight of stairs! And we love when he stands on his hind legs like a circus performer to catch a glimpse or a sniff of something on a table or bench.
A note on his house training: Grigio has made huge improvements with his marking once he learns a routine and feels safe in a consistent home. However, new environments and visiting other houses can still make him a bit nervous, causing him to regress and mark. A patient adopter who understands that he just needs time to adjust to new spaces will help him succeed.
If you are looking for a gentle, cat-friendly, dog-friendly little shadow who will fill your lap and your heart with love, Grigio is ready to meet you!
Adoption Fee: $560 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
