History: Goalie is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome who is working on his trust and confidence and hopes to find his forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Goalie is a 7 year old breeder release Havanese who’s just beginning to learn what it means to feel safe and loved. He has a gentle soul but can be very shy and fearful of people. With patience, consistency, and a calm environment, he’s slowly coming out of his shell.
Goalie is making slow progress on leash walking and potty training. He will need a family that understands that trust takes time and is willing to celebrate the small wins along the way.
One thing that really helps Goalie is having another confident dog in the home. He looks his happiest following my resident dog out in the yard. He looks to other dogs for guidance, so a canine companion will be important.
Goalie does have a level 4 heart murmur and will require annual echocardiograms to monitor his condition. Goalie will have his remaining couple teeth removed at his neuter appointment but he still eats kibble mixed with a little wet food.
If you’re someone with a big heart, a quieter home, and the willingness to let Goalie move at his own pace, you’ll be giving this sweet boy the second chance he truly deserves.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
