History: Gemma is a beautiful and petite young boxer who was a breeding momma up until recently when she was surrendered to rescue to give her a second chance. She is a super sweet girl who hopes to meet you soon!
A Note from the Foster: Hi! Let me introduce myself - my name is Gemma. I am loving this thing called "rescue"! It's different than what I was used to, but honestly what's not to love? I get to stay in a cozy home with lots of people who give me attention, and I've been getting to explore new things, like what it's like to be in a crate (I don't love it, but I'm getting more used to it), toys and bones (not quite sure what to do with them, but it's fun watching the other dogs here play with them), walking on a leash, and doing my best to go potty outside. I just know I'll figure it all out soon! I kind of really love being with people. I think they're my favorite thing ever!! Foster mom calls me a "velcro dog", whatever that means?? I just like to be as close to her as possible. I'm good at telling her that I don't like it when I can't see her. She also tells me I need to learn something called manners. I hear it most when I put my paws up on the counters or on people. My foster mom tells me that she thinks I'm smart and will figure things out quickly and I really want to prove her right!
Oh, one more thing, the male dog here is pretty great, but I haven't decided if I like the female dog here yet. Time will tell.
Adoption Fee: $550 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
