Garth

Adoption Status:‍ ‍Pending

Gender: Male
Breed: Shepherd & Boxer Mix
Age: DOB: 12/2025
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Yes
House Trained: Doing great!

History: We recently welcomed a group of animals who needed help from various unfortunate situations in rural areas down south. Whether overcrowded shelters or unclaimed impounds, they have a second chance at finding their forever homes and hope to meet you soon!

A Note from the Foster: Meet Garth, the happiest little boy you’ll ever meet! This 12‑week‑old shepherd-boxer mixed-breed pup has a heart as big as his puppy paws. Garth adores everyone in his foster home - kids, older dogs and even doing well with the cat. He wants to play even if the cat is not interested.  He’s playful, curious, and learning his manners quickly (treats help a lot). He is a little timid with loud noises and we are trying to work with him on that. We're allowing him some time to still settle into foster life and for his personality to bloom.

Garth’s ideal day involves a romp in the yard (if its not too cold), a few squeaky toys, and plenty of cuddles on the couch. He is absolutely loving the warmer weather and loves to just lay in the grass and sunbathe.  He is also doing really well and loves a little walk with our resident pack. We are working on crate-training, and he is doing very well. Barely any whining and gets his meals in his kennel. He sleeps quietly at night in his kennel. We are also working on house training and to sit for snacks. He is very smart and doing great going potty outside. We are starting on bell training and hope that he catches on quickly.

With his loving nature and big brown eyes, Garth is ready to bring lots of cuddles, love, laughter, and endless tail wags to his forever family.

If you’re looking for a best friend who will grow up by your side, Garth is a true gem! Come meet him today and see why everyone falls in love at first sight.

Adoption Fee: $760 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
