History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!
A Note from the Foster: Francis is a handsome 5 month old Aussie mix puppy, weighing 28 pounds upon arrival from Texas on 11/30/25. So far, he has been a very good boy! He came with some good manners: he sits for treats, waits for me to go in and out the door before him and he tells me when he wants to go outside! He quickly does his business outside and then likes to run around and play in the snow and chase around with the resident dog. He is totally non-aggressive with my Shorkie and with the cat. He does very well walking on a leash, and he comes when he’s called.
Francis sleeps quietly in his crate at night and is good about being in his pen for feeding, playing with toys and napping.
Being a growing pup, Francis has been a little mouthy and an occasional shoe and gloves thief, but seems to know Drop It, Leave It and No! He also respects boundaries set by the resident dog. He doesn’t jump up often and knows Down.
Francis has soft brown hair with some interesting markings on his face and cropped tail. He loves being pet and attention and truly aims to please. Anyone interested in adopting a perfect medium-large dog should check him out. He’s a really good dog and would love to find his furever home!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
