Foster Fail Adoption Application

How exciting you are looking to adopt your foster animal!

We have recently updated our foster fail policy to give foster families 1 week from the animal’s arrival to rescue.

Day 1 starting as the first day they are welcomed to Coco’s Heart. If you do not know this date, please ask your foster mentor ASAP.

Your foster fail adoption application will be accepted within this 7 day period. Day 8+, your application will be processed in the order received and not be guaranteed to be first in line.

This 7 day grace period does not include friends, acquaintances, or other approved foster families. This is solely for foster families wanting to adopt their foster animal. Your foster dog may also be showcased on social media before, during, or after your application is submitted as well but this is separate from your application and you should not worry if you see them online :)

Please note- submitting this adoption application does not guarantee the adoption. CHDR will still follow our standard review of the application and work together with you.

The adoption fee will be determined as normal. For questions, please reach out and ask.

*NOTE: As stated on our adoption process page (read that page before filling out the application!), please apply at the time you are ready to adopt (we cannot schedule meets more than a week out)-we cannot hold dogs or process an application if you are not ready to adopt the dog at that time-including vacations. If you are working with other rescues, please finish the process with them before applying with us-we do a lot of up-front work when you submit an application.

We require a $30 processing fee for any application submitted. Starting January 1st, 2026, the processing fee is valid 1 year from submission per e-mail and is non-refundable regarding if you are approved or not. We will not proceed with the adoption process until we have received your payment. If your preferred dog/puppy is already pending or unavailable, we are committed to finding you a match! You will automatically redirected after submitting the adoption application to the processing fee. If you have already paid this fee, please disregard.

We respond to ALL applications within 1-3 business days. If you have not received a response, please reach out as we respond to ALL applications.
