History: Forester is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon!

A Note from the Foster: Are you looking for new pal?
My name is  Forester! I came to Coco’s Heart in early April and my FM says I’m making really good progress!   (Not sure what that means, but I must say I do feel more brave every day.)

I go in and out of my crate throughout the day between trips to hangout outside.  I never knew outside was  so wonderful. There’s so many new things to see and hear.   I love to sit outside in the sun so my FM says I should find a forever family with a fenced in yard.  I do get excited and let my FM know if I see anything I think she should know about so I’m learning “shhh and quiet”.

I love to meet other dogs and am learning this thing called “play”.   It’s really fun but my foster sister is much bigger than me and has a lot of energy so I let her know when I’ve had enough.  It would be fun to live with another small dog, but I’d do fine having the full attention of my family too. ;)

I sleep in my crate all night, (preferably with the door open) as long as I get out to potty before bed. If not, I can’t settle down until I get out to potty.  If my foster mom leaves during the day, she says I have to have the door closed until she gets home.

Given I’m 3 years old and never got to go outside to potty, it’s a new concept for me.  I’m learning, but sometimes  I fall back into my old habits - mostly when my FM forgets my potty schedule.   She’s learning….  Because of that I wear a belly band in the house.   My FM says after I get neutered, I might not need those any more.
When I first got here I was afraid of people.  Then I learned that I get my ears scratched and petted by humans so I’m comfortable going up to people and letting them know I’d like some attention.

My new family will need to be patient with me as I continue to learn what life can be like in this new world.   So far, I’m loving it!

I’d love meet you!

Adoption Fee: $560 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
