Emmett

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Male
Breed: Shepherd Mix
Age: Est DOB: 10/2025
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Likely due to young age
Kid Friendly: Likely due to young age
House Trained: Doing great!

History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!

A Note from the Foster: Emmett is a very sweet boy. He loves to chew. He chews on his toys, chews on the humans (trying to deter him from that), and he loves his tennis ball! He chases a tennis ball in the house and outside….he does not bring it back to you 🤷🏻‍♀️ we are working on that! After coming in from outside, he will wait at your feet for a treat, and a “good boy, Emmett”. He is also a great snuggle bunny!! He will watch tv with you and snuggle on the couch if he is tired, if he is not tired, he will find something around you to chew on. He loves to go on walks. He does sit down by you when another dog walks by on the other side of the street. We have yet to encounter another dog face to face. If he hears dogs barking in the neighborhood, he will stop and listen. He doesn’t react negatively to that.

He sleeps in his kennel at night for a good 7-8 hours without a peep. In the morning he needs to go straight outside to poop and pee, then we come inside to eat. Right after he eats, we go outside again to poop. He is a pooping machine!!

Emmett is a great puppy! He is learning on how to transition into a great pet!

Adoption Fee: $760 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
