Eartha

Adoption Status: Pending

Gender: Female
Breed: Mini Poodle
Age: Est DOB: 08/2023
Weight: 9.6 lbs
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Unknown
House Trained: In Progress

History: Eartha is a super beautiful girl who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart with her smile and happy personality. She has her paws crossed to find her forever home soon!

A Note from the Foster: Eartha is a sweet, happy, tail wagging, budding velcro dog, little tri-colour miniature poodle coming in at 9 lbs. She likes to stand on her rear legs and dance, to get your attention.

She has discovered the treat bags and has figured out how to get to them, and hopefully help herself. So far it hasn't work. Eartha is food motivated so we are working on sitting for treats. Eartha does not like her kennel and is very vocal when she is in it whereas out of the kennel she is very quiet. She lets you know when she wants on your lap and will curl up and fall asleep.  She will sit in the front yard like a sphinx with her front legs crossed sniffing the air. She enjoys being outside.

She walks nicely on a leash. Very curious about everything, especially leaves, sniffs everything along the way. No speed walking here. Eartha will let you know when she is done with the walk and wants to be carried. Large vehicles and machinery scare her. We had a lot of storm damage here from a couple days ago, so there are lots of limbs and branches down with lots of tree service trucks. They make her uneasy and she asks to be carried, very politely.

She was previously, for a few days in a home with a cat, preteen kids, and got along great. Here is she is with a Moyen Poodle and the get along well. Usually after coming in from outside, she will get the zoomies for a few minutes and plop on a dog bed and sleep but only after she settles an ongoing argument with the round fuzzy dog bed which is ten times bigger that her. She drags it from room to room, throws it up in the air, flips it over and then jumps in it and sleeps for a couple hours.  She loves plushies, especially ones bigger than her. Eartha is also quite

Eartha is going outside when taken out every 90 minutes to two hours. When she sleeps during the days I take her out as soon as she wakes up. She likes the attention she gets when she does her business. Good results are treats, head rubs, and congratulation on being such a good girl. I have her in a diaper at night. That works the best since she sings the entire time she is in the kennel.

Eartha's spay and teeth cleaning is scheduled for September 12 in Somerset, WI.

Adoption Fee: $550 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
