History: We received a plea to help a litter of older pups in Northern MN who needed a second chance. They arrived to rescue in good spirits and super sweet who are each hoping to find forever homes of their very own soon!
A Note from the Foster: Wow - I can't believe I get to look for a forever home When I came to Coco's I was pretty scrawny and tired after being in the cold way up in northern Minnesota, but after a couple week of special food, a soft warm place to sleep and lots of love I was doing great! I'm super healthy and have already had my neuter surgery, so I'm ready for this next step in life.
My name is Drummer (Drummer Boy) and I'm looking for a forever family or parent who likes to snuggle, play and let me hang out with them. I love stuffies, bones, chew toys, and don't even mind my kennel too much. I sleep in it at night (for about 7 hours) and will go in it during the day if my foster mom goes to work. I live with a cranky older resident dog that puts up with my wanting to love her (and leave her be when she curls her lip at me), and a foster sister who I play with a lot! I think all people and dogs are great! I've heard of these things called cats, but I haven't met one yet. There are lots of squirrels here outside and I watch them closely - I haven't decided for sure yet, but they don't seem like they'd be good playmates, so I leave them alone.
I'm super soft and pretty gentle (still working on a little mouthy behavior) so I think I'd be good with all ages of kids and I'm getting good at waiting for my food since I always have a full belly now-a-days. I'm also good at riding in my kennel in the car and am learning how to walk on a leash. I already know "sit", "kennel" and "lay down" - I'm pretty food/treat motivated so I think I'll be learning lots of things! I love being outside, but not so much by myself - want to throw my ball for me and then scratch my belly?

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
