Donna

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Female
Breed: English Bulldog
Age: Est DOB: 12/2019
Weight: 42 lbs
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown
Kid Friendly: Unknown
House Trained: Yes

History: Donna is a super beautiful girl who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart. She is working on her trust and confidence and is hoping to find a patient family of her very own soon!

A Note from the Foster: Meet Donna! She’s a very sweet  and affectionate bulldog! She loves being close (but not too clingy) to her people. She loves plenty of scratches, pets, and rubs and will let you know she needs more with a paw raise and a gentle nudge. Her cuteness is unmatched.💕

She does enjoy lots of naps but don’t let her lazy bulldog reputation fool you as she loves playtimes as well! She enjoys fetch with a ball and loves other toys when you actively play with them with her. She likes spending time outdoors investigating all the sights sounds and smells. We take occasional short walks and she does fine on a leash but the direction and distance is dictated by her. Would you expect less from a stubborn bully?

She sleeps in her crate well with no fussing or barking. The only thing you’ll hear from her in there is the signature bully snores!

She would probably do best as the only dog in the house as she hasn’t “loved” some dogs that have gotten up-in-her space. This may be a hurdle that could resolve with time and exposure. I am uncertain about her opinion of cats. She likes all kinds of people including kids as long as they’re willing to provide pets, rubs, and scratches! She can be shy at first but warms up quickly to everyone she has met and will soak up all the love and attention you can give her.

She has a diagnosis of “dry eye” and requires drops and gel twice daily. She has a follow-up vet appointment at Coccos in the end of May for this to determine if the meds will be needed long term. She cooperates with the medicine application and of course enjoys a yummy treat afterwards.

She is potty trained and the only accidents she’s had were due to my poor timing of letting her out to potty.

She eats a wet/soft food diet due to her teeth having been ground down. She loves dinner times and is highly motivated by tasty treats!

She can navigate short steps and goes up a half flight of stairs fine but struggles with longer flights. I’m confident with more exposure and positive training she will accomplish this task fine.

If you’re ready to provide the love and little extra hygiene maintenance bullies need, then Donna is the girl for you! She is very lovable and waiting for your love in a forever home!

Adoption Fee: $560 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
