History: Dobby is a handsome fella who went unclaimed at a local impound and arrived to rescue looking for a second chance. He is a bit timid at first but warms up quickly and is hoping to find his forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Dobby - named after the house elf in Harry Potter - is similar in looks (face wrinkles and ears) and personality (loyal and devoted friend).
Dobby looks like a tough guy but I’m here to tell you he is really a teddy bear. He’s easy going with a gentle disposition. Dobby enjoys naps, following his people around the house and sleeping in bed with you at night.
Dobby weighs just under 40 pounds making him a perfect fit for townhome, condo or apartment living. Dobby doesn’t bark much (unless you put him in a kennel). Not a fan of being in a kennel but he does do well being left out in the house. He is a houdini when it comes to child gates and gets himself right over them somehow.
Dobby is well mannered and a lovable companion who gets along well with other dogs. He’s looking for a soft place to lay his head and be spoiled.
Dobby is in the process of having his eyes evaluated by the vet staff which will likely require entropion surgery to correct his eyelids.
Adoption Fee: $760 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
