A Note from the Foster: Meet Chrissy 💗

If you’re looking for a gentle soul with the sweetest wagging tail and a quiet appreciation for life’s simple joys… Chrissy might be your girl.

Chrissy is a 7-year-old Shih Tzu who is just beginning to discover how wonderful life can be. After spending her early years in a commercial breeding environment, she’s now embracing her second chance with soft curiosity, a tender heart, and a resilience that shines through in everything she does.

She’s a thoughtful, observant little lady who likes to take her time getting to know new people—but she’s always interested, always watching, and slowly building confidence each day. In our home, she has been a calm, easy presence who is happy to quietly take it all in while learning what it means to simply be a dog.

Chrissy absolutely loves being outside. Exploring the yard is one of her favorite things, and she’s even created her own adorable routine—walking along the fence line to get the perfect full-body scratches on both sides. It’s as cute as it sounds! She’s also doing great with potty training, especially with the warmer weather, and gives clear little circling signals when she needs to go out.

She recently had bladder stones removed during her spay and is feeling so much better—healthy, comfortable, and eating great. Like many former mama dogs, her body tells part of her story, but her spirit is focused on what comes next: safety, love, and a soft place to land.

Chrissy is still learning about leash walking and will need patience and gentle encouragement as she continues to build those skills. At night, she prefers a cozy blanket over a kennel and settles in beautifully for a peaceful night’s sleep.

Chrissy would thrive in a calm, loving home that will allow her to continue blossoming at her own pace. She doesn’t ask for much—just kindness, consistency, and someone who will see just how special she is.

After everything she’s been through, Chrissy is more than ready to enjoy the rest of her life being loved. 💕

Adoption Fee: $560 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
