History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!
A Note from the Foster: Chocolate’s tail never seems to stop wagging, and it’s easy to see why – he’s a big, sweet boy with an even bigger heart. He loves curling up on the couch for movie nights, but don’t let that fool you… he’s also a big fan of long walks in the park, where he happily stops to sniff everything along the way.
Chocolate walks nicely on leash and knows the cue “Wait.” He’s very smart and highly treat-motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding. He’s currently practicing waiting patiently for dinner and is getting better every day.
This affectionate guy has a serious case of FOMO and prefers to be wherever you are at all times. Cooking? He’s there. Eating? Definitely there. Chocolate never fully gives up on the idea that food might magically fall from the table. Hope springs eternal.
When it’s playtime, Chocolate is all about a good tug-of-war showdown. Fetch is fun too… for a few throws. After that, he figures you’ve probably got better things to do — like petting him.
Chocolate is doing great with another dog in the home and has gracefully accepted that even though he’s bigger, the resident dog is the boss. Above all, Chocolate is a giant bundle of love with a heart as sweet as his name.
So… is there a little sweet Chocolate in your future? 🍫🐾
Adoption Fee: $510 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
