History: Chewy Chew is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Chewy Chew a.k.a. “Harry” as I call him is a distinguished senior Lhasa Apso with a heart as big as his fluffy coat. A true gentleman through and through, he carries himself with quiet confidence and a calm, steady presence that makes everyone around him feel at ease. In his foster home, Chewy has naturally taken on the role of “dad of the group”—a gentle leader who keeps the other dogs in line with patience and wisdom. His dad duties also include following me around and making sure “I am doing it right”when I am doing the laundry or getting food ready. Despite his leadership role, Chewy is incredibly sweet enjoying peaceful moments lying in a bed near you. Being a breeder release that spent the first 11 years of his life in the breeding cycle he has adjusted well to my home. He still doesn’t know if he loves getting petted always, but he is open to exploring it with you.
Chewy Chew would thrive in a laidback household where his calm nature and loving personality can truly shine. He loves exploring the backyard with the other dogs and protecting me from those pesky plastic balls the neighbors kids leave out. When he is barking (which doesn’t happen often) you may think a seal has gotten into your yard, but nope just Chewy. We haven’t started leash training or going on walks, but I know he would LOVE to have someone to go on walks with.
If you're looking for a loyal companion with a nurturing spirit and a wise soul, Chewy is ready to be your steady, loving presence.
Adoption Fee: $510 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
