Weight: 8 lbs

Cat Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Unknown
House Trained: Doing great!

History: Cali is a beautiful girl who needed a second chance at a good life. She quickly wriggled her way into our hearts with how sweet and loving she is and she would make a great addition to a lucky home of her own soon!

A Note from the Foster: Hello! I’m Cali, or as my foster mom calls me, Cali Muppet! I am a sweet little poodle who spent the first years of my life as a momma in a breeding facility. Now that I am out of there, I am quickly learning life can be really good!

I love spending time snuggling my foster siblings on the couch and I like to watch animals on TV! I am making progress on potty training, but because I don’t know how to go down the stairs yet. I have a hard time showing my foster mom I need to go potty. I will go potty on pads, and I will go potty if you put me on the grass outside. I know where I am supposed to go, it is just those darn stairs trip me up! My foster mom is working on teaching me to go down the stairs using peanut butter bread as a treat and I am getting really close to going for it, it is just so scary! I’m a brave girl though and I know I’ll get it soon!

I am used to be kenneled during the workday for up to 8 hours and I don’t make a mess in my kennel! I don’t mind being in my kennel, I usually cry a little bit at first but then I calm down.

As is typical with breeder release pups, I am a little shy as I continue to learn the ropes, but I am getting the hang of everything slowly! I would do great in a home with another confident dog to continue to show me what its like to be a dog! Although I don’t like to be in the heart of the action, I do like to observe and be included in what is going on. I cry when I am left alone in a room. I want to be by my people!

I like to sleep in a puppy pile on the couch with my foster siblings, they are the comfiest! I am good with dogs and cats, I enjoy friends! Kids are fun too; however I might be best with older calm kids who understand my need for patience and slow movement.

I’m a great eater and enjoy treats, though they are still new to me and I don’t always know what to do with them. There are so many new things in this world to learn about, do you want to be my partner on all my future adventures? I’d sure love to meet you!

Adoption Fee: $560 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
