Biscuit

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Male
Breed: Pitbull Terrier Mix
Age: Est DOB: 09/2025
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Likely due to young age
House Trained: Doing great!

History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!

A Note from the Foster: Biscuit (who is also known as Greyson in his foster home but please apply for Biscuit) has been growing like a weed and developing his own personality, now that he and his siblings have gone their separate ways.  He is so adorable, with the softest gray color around his ears and one eye, hence the nickname Greyson.  He currently is in a very cute growth spurt where his legs appear to be too long for his body.

Biscuit plays hard with his older dog siblings and enjoys playing tug of war and keep-away.  His favorite toy is the chew bones, although he has recently discovered the fun of chasing the bouncing lighted ball.  When it’s time to rest, he likes his dog bed in front of the fireplace, however, if your in the mood to cuddle, he will gladly hang out in your lap.

From the beginning, he has enjoyed being outside in the snow and cold.  He will spend time wandering and sniffing until he gets the zoomies before he is ready to come back in. He is proving to be a smart little guy and is about 95% potty trained.  He has recently started understanding the sit command after only a few attempts-pretty amazing for such a young pup.  Training in the future will probably be quite easy as he is very food motivated and seems to pick up on things quickly.

He has met the resident outdoor cats and plays nicely with them (although a little rough as he is still a puppy), but without showing any prey drive.  He has also been outside around the goats and horses and does not seem overly excited by them either.

Biscuit is good in his kennel and stays calm once inside.   While he has slept in his kennel, he has also been allowed to sleep with the other dogs on the human bed-and as a hint, he may let you sleep in later, if he is not in his kennel.  When being left home alone, he is kenneled in a larger walk around kennel and has been very good in there as well.

He had his first bath this week and once he realized it was not soo scary, he stood nice and calm while he was showered and groomed.  He also stands nicely when his nails are being clipped.

Biscuit is going to be a loving and smart pup for someone who wants to give him as much love as they have.  He will be fun to watch as he learns new things and appears to have the capacity to learn quite easily.

Adoption Fee: $760 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
