Auggie Doggie

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Male
Breed: Pointer Mix
Age: Est DOB: 01/2026
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Likely due to young age
House Trained: Doing great!

History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!

A Note from the Foster: Auggie is an 11-week-old pointer mix who’s already showing what a great companion he’ll be. He is already mostly potty trained with zero accidents since coming to his foster home. He is highly motivated to learn and be praised for his good dog ways.

Auggie also really likes his crate and will chew on his bone and squeak his stuffed lamb or take a nap. Being a puppy he still naps a lot. He also sleeps 8 hrs a night with potty breaks at least once a night.

Auggie is a sweetheart and bonds quickly with people. He loves to be close to his humans—and likes to curl up next to you and share in social media scrolling. So far he likes Mini horses and dogs on Instagram but is very thumbs down on polar bears.

Auggie gets along well with other animals and has shown friendly curiosity toward his new cat friend, doing his best to be respectful.

Like any puppy, he’s still building confidence in new situations, but he’s a quick learner. With his intelligence and natural instincts, he would thrive in an active home and will be a great companion.

Adoption Fee: $760 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
