History: We received a plea to help a group of deserving but very overweight bulldogs who were being surrendered to rescue. They are stunning dogs but are working on their diet and exercise plan to be at a healthier weight and are officially ready to start their journeys in finding forever homes of their own soon!
A Note from the Foster: Say hello to ZuZu! She snores, she farts, and is the most extraordinary couch potato you’ll ever meet!
Zuzu is a three-year-old bulldog who came to Coco’s and is obvious she didn’t have a lot of love or affection for the first few years of her life. But she is warming up to the idea of being the center of some lucky family’s world. She is still pretty skittish and does better when people approach her slowly. She still gets easily scared of loud or sudden noises. She will run away to her comfort spot, but is quick to come back once she knows it’s safe. So, I think she would do better in a home with older or no children.
Zuzu does well with cats and other dogs, but with slow introductions. I think she would do well in a home with a confident older dog to help show her the ropes or in a home where she is the only dog so she can soak up all the love and attention.
Zuzu is super quiet (besides the snoring 😉) and has barely made a peep since being in our home. She has had no accidents, but does not let you know when she needs to go out, so would do well on a regular schedule. She is not very fond of her kennel, but once you get her in there, she will lay down without complaint.
Zuzu is a low energy dog who likes to watch TV and taking naps. But she’s sure to wiggle her way into your heart from the moment she walks through the door. Everyone she meets loves her once they meet her and you will too. She is a sweet and loveable girl who deserves a loving family of her own.
Adoption Fee: $550 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
