History: Zinnia has been in rescue for several months working on her confidence and trust building. She was so shut down when she arrived and has been doing well in her foster home with the help of her foster family and other dogs in the home. She is officially ready to start her journey in finding her forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: When I first brought her home she was very scared and shut down. Did not want to be pet and didn't want to do anything but sit in her safe space all day. She has come so far since then! She runs around the backyard spinning in circles and barking happily. She enjoys chewing on bones and following the rest of the dogs around. She loves to be near me and will share licks with me on the hand. She will sneak up behind me and give me little licks on the back of the legs when we are outside together. She loves to be talked to and have conversations with me. It warms my heart and makes me smile watching her enjoy life and being able to get tail wags from her. She is quiet and laid back and just spends a lot of time observing everything and doesn't bark a lot. With how far she has come she is still going to need that special, patient home that is willing to give her time she needs to continue to grow. She also doesn't like to be pet yet, but she will lay next to you and loves to be near you. She is soooo worth the time it may take to see her smile and her tail wag. I love having her in my home but I know she deserves having a home of her own where she can be loved and doted on by her own family. She gets along with all of the other dogs in my home. She doesn't want to play with them yet, but she likes having them around for companionship and to snuggle next to and nap with. I think older children in the home would be fine, but young children would be too stressful for her. She has no issues with the cat in my home. I wish I could capture her smile in a picture because it will capture your heart.
Adoption Fee: $510 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
