A Note from the Foster: Hi there⦠Iām Wilma! ā¤ļø
Iām a 1-year-old Great Pyrenees mix from Texas. Iām 65 pounds of pure sweetness (if I do say so myself). Life has been quite the journey so far, but Iām ready to find my fur-ever home!
Let me tell you a little about me. I love people ā especially my little human friends. Iāve been so gentle and patient with a toddler and even an 8-month-old baby. I seem to understand that tiny humans need extra care, and Iām always happy to be their calm, loving companion. I was a little apprehensive of the dogs in my foster home at first but Iām quickly learning that they can be fun! I could be happy in home with a doggie pal (preferably male) or by myself too.
Iām also a great co-pilot if you like car rides. I settle in and enjoy the journey right alongside you. My foster mom says Iām a āwatch the world go byā kind of gal. At home, Iāve been very polite ā no accidents here! Iāve got this potty training thing pretty well figured out.
My favorite place to be? Right next to you. Whether youāre working, relaxing, or just hanging out, Iām perfectly content laying at your feet, keeping you company. Iām not a needy girl ā just being near my people makes me happiest.
That said, I do have a little bit of that Great Pyrenees spirit in me. Iād love a home with a backyardāespecially one with a fenceāwhere I can stretch my legs, explore, and just be my majestic, fluffy self.
Oh, and I should mention⦠Iām a big fan of kisses and all the pets youāre willing to give. Seriously, I will soak up every bit of love you have. My foster mom says Iām the sweetest, calmest foster sheās ever had.
If youāre looking for a loyal, gentle, and loving companion, Iāve got a heart as big as Texas. I promise to fill your home with warmth, calm, and a whole lot love.
Love,
Wilma š¾

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
