History: šŸ§” From Texas to Midwest šŸ¤ ā€”- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!

A Note from the Foster: Hi there… I’m Wilma! ā¤ļø

I’m a 1-year-old Great Pyrenees mix from Texas. I’m 65 pounds of pure sweetness (if I do say so myself). Life has been quite the journey so far, but I’m ready to find my fur-ever home!

Let me tell you a little about me. I love people — especially my little human friends. I’ve been so gentle and patient with a toddler and even an 8-month-old baby. I seem to understand that tiny humans need extra care, and I’m always happy to be their calm, loving companion. I was a little apprehensive of the dogs in my foster home at first but I’m quickly learning that they can be fun! I could be happy in home with a doggie pal (preferably male) or by myself too.

I’m also a great co-pilot if you like car rides. I settle in and enjoy the journey right alongside you. My foster mom says I’m a ā€œwatch the world go byā€ kind of gal. At home, I’ve been very polite — no accidents here! I’ve got this potty training thing pretty well figured out.

My favorite place to be? Right next to you. Whether you’re working, relaxing, or just hanging out, I’m perfectly content laying at your feet, keeping you company. I’m not a needy girl — just being near my people makes me happiest.

That said, I do have a little bit of that Great Pyrenees spirit in me. I’d love a home with a backyard—especially one with a fence—where I can stretch my legs, explore, and just be my majestic, fluffy self.

Oh, and I should mention… I’m a big fan of kisses and all the pets you’re willing to give. Seriously, I will soak up every bit of love you have. My foster mom says I’m the sweetest, calmest foster she’s ever had.

If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle, and loving companion, I’ve got a heart as big as Texas. I promise to fill your home with warmth, calm, and a whole lot love.

Love,
Wilma šŸ¾

Adoption Fee: $760 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
