History: We welcomed a group recently from a partnering organization of ours, Villalobos Animal Rescue. These kiddos are SO sweet and already have a great start at basic obedience and mannerisms.
A Note from the Foster: This sweet, shy and snuggle-bug is Verde! He came from Villalobos Rescue Center and he is a very special guy. He’s about 1-1.5 years old is the guess and so he still has some puppy-ness about him.
Everything’s been new for him but he’s taken most of it in stride.
He is great with our older resident dog. She’s gotten him to be comfortable and start learning what play is. He’s been wonderful with my 4 year old son. My son is active and Verde is still learning what okay play is at times. Verde is doing well with potty training! He has started to show us when he needs to go outside which is wonderful! He already knows “sit” and he loves his treats and toys.
One thing to know about this guy is that he is very shy and skittish. Men especially make him nervous. We are working on getting him more confident. He is not reactive outside or on walks, just when someone comes in the house will he bark a bit. He sleeps and stays in his kennel with no fuss, just some treats or toys to entice him in. Verde is a great guy and such a sweetheart!
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
