History: Velveeta is a super beautiful girl who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart with her smile and happy personality. She has her paws crossed to find her forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Hey! I’m Velveeta. I love to be around my people, especially when they give me cheese! (I wonder if that’s where I got my name?!) It’s my favorite treat along with freeze-dried chicken. I spend my days exploring my space and sleeping. I snore sometimes but my mentor, the family's permanent pup, says it's ok. I get along with her well, and I respect that she likes her space. My foster family has these weird dogs they call “cats”. I am interested in them, but they don’t really like being sniffed so I leave them alone. I figured out the two doggy doors in the house almost immediately and can reliably go up and down the stairs. I am really good at going potty outside, but I’m still working out the difference between outside and inside so please forgive me if I have a few accidents. I like to cuddle with my people in the evenings and I’m learning how to ask to be held. If you are in need of a companion who exercises and has a lot of energy, I'm not your girl. But if you’re looking for a sweet, soft, charming pup whose favorite hobbies are sleeping and vibing, I’d love to meet you!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
